Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions, or in the distribution of weather around the average conditions. Climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. Certain human activities have also been identified as significant causes of recent climate change, often referred to as "global warming.

The world now faces one of the most complex and important issues it has ever had to deal with: climate change.  Though this was once an issue that would draw much argument and strife about its creditability, most of the world’s nations can no longer deny that it is a real issue.  The impact that humans have had on the world has literally changed the climate.  Higher temperatures are reported yearly, stronger storms are forming, and some of the planet’s critical nonrenewable resources are being depleted.  For all of these changes that, in the end, affect everyone, the nations of the world have not all gone about this issue in the same way.  Currently, the threat of global climate change does not threaten some to the same extent of others.  The shortsightedness of those that are not yet drastically effected is one of the most serious issues that the world deals with now and fundamental changes must be made to advert a global crisis that everyone may face if no actions are taken.
More people exploit more natural resources, cut more trees, use more fossil fuels, produce more wastes, build more roads, dams and cities, pollute more soil, water and air, and contribute more greenhouse gases to the atmosphere ' which may lead to the ozone depletion and global warming, ultimately damaging the entire environment and aggravating the climatic change.
Thus, man is capable of influencing global climate deliberately or inadvertently through his various actions and activities.

We are in that special season once again, a season of joy, of peace, of great tidings. A season when we celebrate the birth of Christ the King, the redeemer of mankind! Jesus is the reason for the season.

At Christmas, we are expected to spare time to contemplate on things eternal. That is, we must remind ourselves that we are strangers here on earth; that our real home is in heaven. And that no matter how long we live, we shall sure die one day. So many people who started the year 2012 with us are not around to finish it. Like us, they commenced the New Year with high hopes and aspirations. Some may have planned to marry this year, to buy a new car or to move into their new apartment. But alas, all those are now but a pipe dream. Thus, we should count ourselves lucky to be alive to see this Christmas. This should therefore be a period of gratitude to God for sparing our lives and counting us among the living. It should equally be an opportunity for us to mend our ways with God so that we will not be found wanting.

In today’s day and time, it is easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Amidst the delicious meals, sweet drinks, lovely songs & dances, beautiful friends & family members we would come across this season, let’s try not to forget about the child, born on a winter night so cold, whose bed was made only of hay & animal food; our lord Jesus Christ, who taught us all what real, genuine & unconditional love is.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. A time for us to understand the lessons from Jesus & reflect on them. Jesus brought a new religion based on love & the vision of a God who is full of compassion & forgiveness; a vision of doing everything with a positive mindset & from a place of love.

Merry Christmas...

Equal rights, equal opportunities

An equal right, equal opportunities nowadays is progress for all. As the same for International Women’s Day this year: ‘Equal rights, equal opportunities:  Progress for all re- emphasizes that equal rights and opportunities lead to improved health outcomes for women and girls .

Discrimination towards women and girls, or what is known as gender based discrimination, is one of the most pervasive human rights violations. It severely limits the ability of women, girls and the communities they live in to protect and promote their health. Nowadays, the rights for women are as well the rights of men, even in the Philippines. But, not like other nations, equal rights are somewhat a marshmallow. Our laws regarding the abuse of women in the Philippines are not well-implemented.

The way forward: equal rights and equal opportunities for women and girls now gender-based discrimination is irrevocably connected to negative health outcomes for women sang girls. Its associated poor health outcomes are often compounder by other forms of inequality related to socio economic status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation or geographical location.

But whatever reasons are, the truth is, gender equality is good for health. Our government has just to implement the law foe a better protection of women against abuse, whatever the cause.

Going Global through English Language

English has been the dominant language of international education and work places for decades, but are things starting to change? The global dominance of the English language in education and work place is not a new subject. There has been extensive research into its effects on recruitment, teaching and learning methods, and its impact on academic writing and publishing the world over.

Globally, English has been key to academic collaboration, through research activity, events and communications, both inside and between institutions themselves. What are the implications for international strategy? Many UK and US institutions view international students as key to growth, both home and abroad, but the only problem is that, English language is deteriorating due to poor quality of education in a one’s nation. In the Philippines during the early times, graduates of Grade 7 become a teacher or professional. But now, even professionals are hard to spoke fluently in English. How much more to students, most importantly on high school level?

It is really important to mingle and learn English language so as to become a successful professional nowadays. Because it’s the international language, we need to learn more to be competitive in any aspect of life.

Unravel the causes build solutions empower the science clubbers to action

Pollution has different kinds and causes. Whether we like it or not, pollution of different kinds are affecting our lives and lives of the future generations. Saving our environment should be a global concern. We have chosen an unwise lifestyle that has resulted in ponderous pollution of the earth’s ecosystem- soil, lakes, rivers, ocean, and atmosphere have been poisoned. Our apathy to our future contrasts with god’s great concern for the earth, which after all, is His creation and property.

We are well cognizant of our unclean and unsanitary environment. We undeniably see it in uncollected garbage, in litter carelessly left or intentionally thrown on the streets and elsewhere. We smell it in the suffocating fumes and acrid smog from heavy traffic and factories that plague some cities. Many feel the necessities of bathing themselves more than twice a day. More and more people are afflicted with colds, asthma, and other respiratory ailments. Fresh air seems to be the most sought- after commodity in the places.

We should control and combat pollution before Mother Earth gives up and it’s completely ruined. Our lives depend on it. So let’s start to act now. Let’s use the 3R’s to maintain the cleanliness of our environment. We should also plant trees to prevent floods and for the better future of the next generations.

  My teacher, my hero

Do you know that heroes don't always dress in a superhero suit? A hero can wear anything and they can be as simple as we are. Everyone can be a hero, not necessarily save lives but we can be heroes on our own way .But did you know that heroes are hard to find? I found my hero and she is a teacher.

Your hero can be your mom, dad, brother, sister; friend or it can be your teacher. Well, a teacher for me is most likely a hero because they do lots of things just to do their works. A teacher is similar to a hero for some reasons. The quality that I like most about my teacher is that she still keeps on smiling at the end of the day even if she’s very tired. She did it just to remind us that she’s strong and she just laugh on her problems and never gives up to God’s challenges. My teacher affects my life and inspires me a lot. I learned many great words. I do not remember what they all were; but I do know that mother, father, brother, teacher were among them—words that were to make the world blossom for me.

All teachers can be a hero if they have determination, patience, courage and dedication to work that can really inspire students. A hero is not only famous and seen on television because you can be a hero on your simple way. My teacher is my hero because she’s not perfect but she tries to do the best for everyone and I owe her one. She’s one of the reasons why I keep holding my dreams and that I’ll want to get the excellence.

Reflection:

I am usually using computers especially if there’s a project or assignments. I’m using basic or familiar applications like the Microsoft word, power point, excel and many more and with the use of the internet. This second grading, I discovered more and learn more on how to use it. I saw notepad before but I ignored it because I didn’t know how to use. I learned also what is the importance of the HTML tags.

Knowing this kind of applications, I was challenged in discovering more kinds of applications. It encourage me more to use new technologies or new gadgets to improve my skills and to learn more. It was really amazing when I did some activities on it without any error or mistakes. I continuously posted on my blog account with different topics or theme. I know how to edit and make an art on my blog.

In behalf of this challenges, I overcome it by exploring new applications through the use of computers and gadgets also with the help of my friends to complete the said activity because, if you really want to learn, there are many ways that needed to accomplish it.
